    1. This book was nominated for an Agatha Award for Best First Novel the first year the honors were given out. I was unfamiliar with the author until I saw her name in the list of nominees.I enjoyed this book. The characters are intelligent and varied, a few even charming. The two sleuths are a good pair, both good at their work. This is a level above some of the novels that are considered for this award, those that are a bit too 'cozy' for me.
