    1. Okay, I'm going to be honest, when I started reading this book, I almost didn't get past the first page. The first chapter had me thinking, "oh great, this is going to be a really carried away sci-fi book that I'll never get through." --But I did get through it, and I was pleasantly surprised. The second chapter rescued me, as did the rest of the book. The story weaves in and out through several different characters that are all in one way or another connected.     2. i won this book as part of the giveawaysis book is the first in what looks to be a trilogy. in a lot of ways, it reminds me of a comic book. aliens crash-landing on earth. superhumans all developing various powers. unrevealed mysteries. good pulp reading. unfortunately, it reminds me of some of the video games you see nowadays, where you throw up something with all the right game mechanics, but that is missing the essential nature of a gamee whole book feels like a prologue to something. it's t [...]
