    1. I picked up this play randomly at the library, not knowing it’s based off a real person and was, in 1967, made into a Disney film. It’s cute, but I wouldn’t call it great theatre by any stretch of the imagination. The story, taking place in pre-WWI Philadelphia, centers on the Biddle family and its eccentric patriarch, who enjoys boxing and keeps alligators for pets.
