    1. This is a contemporary romance book.Lauren's fiance picks NY over her and she starts thinking that everything is going wrong. Her brother comes to visit her and brings her a computer. Shortly after learning to use it, she finds herself a "penpal", KC. She knows very little about him. She knows that he's a Christian. She continues her online relationship with KC for about a year. Her emotions start becoming a roller coaster of chaos. She begins to wonder if the relationship would ever work in real [...]

    2. I like epistolary novels so I enjoyed the e-mail exchanges between KC and Wren. But the novel has the faults of much Christian fiction: insecure heroine and tacked on sermons. (I don't mind characters who pray and talk about God, but few Christian authors succeed in making it seem natural.) Some have mentioned the nostalgic aspects of the story that takes place at the advent of personal computers and e-mail, but I was intrigued by the fact that parts of the storyline could only have happened bef [...]

    3. "Echoes" by Robin Gunn Jones gets 5 stars from me. This book is number 3 of 8 in The Glenbrooke Series. Even through this is in a series the book was great as a stand alone. I am going to look for the other 7. Right before the breakup Lauren Phillips's fiancee tells her "Things always seem to happen to you". This was said after the sudden decision to change her hair style which is only one of the funny episodes told in the book. After the breakup Lauren starts sending and receiving emails from K [...]

    4. When Lauren's fiance chooses New York over her, her brother Brad comes to visit, bringing her a computer. He sets her up with an email and shows her a chat room for God lovers where they start talking to KC. Over the next year, Lauren and KC exchange emails and build a friendship. When their meeting doesn't happen, will it take a God-ordained encounter to bring these two together?I love Robin Jones Gunn, and the Glenbrooke series is my favorite by her. Although this book is old as far as technol [...]

    5. echoes glenbrook series 3 by robin jones gunnLauren and her boyfriend have called off the marriage. Her brother gives her a computer and shereconnects with KC, learning more about one another. She continues her college education andthey agree to meet in person.Somedays she's really a klutz and things happen throughout this novel that find her in situationsand locations she never thought she'd be in. Her faith in God will get her through.Good to catch up with others in Glenbrook, love this series [...]

    6. Ah, me. Echoes is by far my favorite in the Glenbrooke series, although it is possibly the least plausible. It was the first Glenbrooke book I read and the one I have read the most over the last 7-10ish years. I am a sucker for a Browningesque storyline.

    7. Deffentallly my fvorite glenbrooke book! it was soooo good, the ending was the best of them all! :) It was kinda annoying how she wouldnt talk to KC, but it all turned out fine!

    8. It was odd for me that this series starts off in this nice little town of Glenbrooke, begins introducing us to various characters, and then in the next two books shifts abruptly to spend most of the time in Hawaii and Nashville, respectively. I'm not sure what to expect next. I did like this book for the most part. I related to Lauren and the feelings and fears she experiences. It surprised me that Gunn choose to feature a relationship developing electronically, considering how new the internet [...]

    9. Parts of this cozy and sweet romance novel I enjoyed more than others. But because there were quite a few spots where I skimmed the pages (because I was bored), I didn't feel right giving it a 4 (3.5 yes, but not a 4). The main characters were likable, which is why I wanted to see how their journey ended. Readers who prefer a leisurely pace will enjoy this book. And there is a plot twist that will hook fast-paced readers. Robin Jones Gunn does a wonderful job making us care and curious about the [...]

    10. Yay for maturing writers! This episode of the Glenbrooke series is the best so far. Smooth writing, wonderful characters, and a great plot made this book a wonderful read. It was fun to see Wren grow throughout the story and finally come into her own. KC is absolutely perfect, and you can't help but fall in love with him a little.

    11. EchoesThis is the first book I have read by this author. I love epistolary style books. This is definitely an older book but still had charm. I enjoyed it for the most part but found myself skipping paragraphs.

    12. These books are not bad; the two star rating just reflects they are light vacation reads and don’t provoke a lot of reflection.

    13. I love the stories crafted by this author.I love the stories crafted by this author. This book, like the others I've read, does not disappoint. A lovely story.

    17. I feel it’s important with this review to be upfront: I didn’t really like this book. If I hadn’t felt the need to give it my best shot, I’d probably have stopped after the first chapter. However, I think that Echoes was one of those books that might not have appealed to me but could be a great story for a different reader.I am not a reader who enjoys romance for the sake of romance. I’ve only read a couple of Mrs. Gunn’s novels, but they did fit my preferred structure of the romance [...]

    18. It pains me to say that my opinion of Echoes was not exceptionally high!=[First off, while I did enjoy Lauren and K.C.'s romanticism, I felt that the characters were two-dimensional. An entire year had passed since K. C. and Wren's correspondence started and, to me, I felt Wren as a character had not really progressed. A year after Jeff broke off the engagement, I got the feeling Lauren was still very dependent on others to make or break her mood and perception of herself. Now personally, I'm a [...]

I have not read the two books preceding Echoes in the series, and I have no indication that it is necessary to read the books in order.Having said that, I thoroughly enjoyed this lovely story of romance via the Internet. 22. After her fiance took a job in New York without telling her, Lauren Phillips did not have time to grieve her loss. Instead, she took back control of her life, including going back to school. Someone named KC answered and they eventually became pen pals.Wren and KC had so much in [...]

    25. I picked this book up early this morning, needing to read it for a review. I didn't expect much out of it because I was in one of those slumps after reading an incredibly amazing book. You know the ones. Where the next book you read, no matter how amazing it may be, just doesn't quite live up to your expectations because nothing can be greater than the book you just finished. Yes, I was in that slump. I expected no fireworks from this book. Apparently, God had different plans for my reaction. It [...]

    28. I did not realize this is a series, and this is the third book in the series. Even though I did not get to read the first two I still found this to be a very heart warming and what I like to call a 'cozy book'. Love and romance, oh yes I love it, but then Lauren and her boyfriend call off their marriage, she is devastated, and that familiar feeling of rejection, abandonment and failure consumed her thoughts all over again. Her brother Brad gives her a new computer, hoping to lift her spirits, and [...]
