    1. Secrets is a delightfully charming novel about starting anew. Jessica is a 25-year-old who has left home for reason unknown to move into the small town of Glenbrooke, Oregon, where no one knows her and she has a job lined up to begin teaching high school English. Her new life has quite a rocky start as she begins her new life being rescued from a car wreck and lying in a hospital bed with no insurance and no name to give while the only other person who can help her is a few floors above her reco [...]

    2. "Secrets" by Robin Jones Gunn gets 5 stars from me.It is the 1st book in the The Glenbrooke series. This is the 2nd story of the series and i want to read all 8 books in this series. In the opening page of this story Jennifer is running away from her past and has a car accident.Kyle,a handsome firefighter comes to her rescue. The attraction for each others starts immediately. Jennifer was hired to be the new English teacher in Glenbrooke but the principal had a stroke and didn't get new file turne [...]

    3. This was a fairly benign story. Enjoyable. I read it in a few hours. It was an easy read with a happy ending. A little too much religion in it for my taste. (Some of the characters are born again and it is pushed a bit in the book) I alos thought it was going to be more mysterious than it turned out to be. A feel good story for a rainy day.

    4. I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group in exchange of an honest review.Jessica Morgan moves to Glenbrooke in order to start over. Unfortunately under the foreseen circumstance Jessica ends up in a car accident and while laying in the hospital with no insurance – she comes out with a fake name in order to hide her identity. Her new life turns for the worse when the only person that knows her true identity is laying in the room above hers in a sort of coma. She [...]

    5. My ReviewMinor SpoilersJessica Morgan is running away and starting her new life when suddenly she finds herself in a car accident. She is immediately found and rescued, but her first day in her new home is spent in the hospital recovering from her injuries. Jessica Morgan becomes Jessica Fenton, starts her new job as a high school English teacher, moves into her rented home, and is determined to make friends but keep them at arm’s distance. However, with money running low, attempts to keep her [...]

    6. Up until the last 50 or so pages I was content to leave the rating for this book at three stars (this is my second read through) and keep the book in my library.Unfortunately, the book took a steep nose dive in the last 50 or so pages exacerbating every problem/inconsistency I had noticed early on.Here are just a few of the flaws:1. characters that immediately fall in love2. overly perfect guy3. stereotypical mean principal out to get the poor little teacher4. tons of deus ex machina5. totally i [...]

    7. "Secrets" is the first book in the Glenbrooke Series written by Robin Jones Gunn. In this story we are introduced to Jessica Morgan who has just turned twenty-five and is hoping for a fresh start in life, changing her name and heading for Glenbrooke where she hopes she can leave her past behind. When an accident has her meeting firefighter Kyle Buchanan they are drawn to each other. What is Jessica running from, and will her past keep her from having a future with Kyle?An interesting story with w [...]

    8. "Secrets" is a contemporary, sweet romance novel. This novel had the most romantic car accident scene I've ever read. I'm half in love with Kyle, myself. The characters were engaging, and the world-building and pacing were very good. The theme was about the burden of keeping secrets and what that can do to your life. Enough hints were given early on and throughout the book that I had a general idea of what Jessica's secret was, so I wasn't disappointed by it. (Generally, I've found that "hidden u [...]

    10. An Amazing story about true happinness!! This was the first book i have read by Robin Jones Gunn and it was so interesting that i have been a faithful follower of her writings. Jessica is running away from her father and all this money. she doesn't want to inherit his company she wants to be a teacher and live in a small community hoping to relive the happiness their family shared when her mother was still alive and before her dad became so rich and influential. 11. It can be strange to re-read books after a decade or more. This book has plenty of flaws - inconsistencies, dropped characters, heavy handed religious talk - and yet it is still charming. There are some beautifully written lines and Jessica is a nicely developed character. I will probably end up re-reading the entire Glenbrooke series, simply because it's nice to read sweet, happy books sometimes. :)"The praying sounded like a brook running to meet the ocean, getting louder as it became wider."

    12. Relies heavily on a single plot device, revealed in the end, that wasn't quite satisfactory for me. However, it is well written and will keep you reading.

    13. This was a pleasure to hear. Jessica and Kyle are memorable characters. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

    14. Jessica Morgan is running away from everything that defined her first twenty-five years of life, hoping that life in a small Oregon town will hold all the healing and change that she has needed for so long. Her last minute decision to leave her old life behind has ill-prepared for what lies ahead. A bend in the road as she drives into Glenbrooke sends her car into a ditch and her to the emergency room, accompanied by one of the town's handsome firemen, Kyle Buchanan. From there, Jessica struggle [...]

    15. Jessica Morgan left California to get a fresh start on life; Jessica Fenton is the new identity she used to protect herself. But protect herself from what? Jessica attended church when she was young but after her mother died the family stopped going. In the friendly town of Glenbrooke she was around people who have trusted Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. It seemed she wasn't used to being around kind, friendly people and I was guessing that had something to do with the reason why she ma [...]

    16. Jessica is running away to hide in the small town of Glenbrooke, Oregan in the Willamette Valley. Her plan to slip in quietly crashes quite literally when she loses control of her car and ends up in the ER. Things go downhill from there. This book is full of completely unreal scenarios such as the woman in the emergency room hounding her for her id, contact person and insurance information right after they get her into the ER. I've been in the ER multiple times whether we drove there or in an am [...]

    20. "'Funny thing about hearts. They can be as big as the ocean. But there's only room in them to either be open or to harbor secrets." (Secrets)Jessica moves to Glenbrooke with a heart full of secrets. Her guard is up toward everyone, even the kindest people she makes acquaintance with and those who repeatedly choose to attempt to befriend her. None of them know she is even hiding anything at first. Then, things start to unravel for Jessica, even as some parts of her life start to become inexplicab [...]

    21. My first introduction to Robin Jones Gunn was Sisterchicks Go Brit! and I loved it. When I heard that "Secrets," the first novel in the Glenbrooke series (of about eight novels I believe) and the first adult novel that Robin wrote I was greatly intrigued. This is the book that so many people have told me was their first Christian Fiction novel to read that hooked them on the genre. The new cover is gorgeous and definitely something I would reach for. I was really excited about the opportunity to [...]

    22. Secrets, Glenbrooke Series #1 by Robin Jones GunnWhen I first looked at this book, I was not really sure what to expect. I was not overly excited to read it, nor was I putting it off. But I picked up this book this morning, yes I said this morning and I was intrigued on the first page. I am not kidding! Within the first two pages I was 100% hooked on this book. 26. The first book of the Glenbrooke series was an auspicious start.
