    1. The only thing that would of made this book better would of been Sissy getting her comeuppance!

    2. (Not suitable for readers under 18)Wow. I'm so glad I selected this book on my Kindle today. Being under the weather, I wanted a good read, scrolled through my downloads, and decided to give Promise Cove a shot, having no clue the sweet love story I was in store for.Driving in a convoy outside of Bagdad, Captain Scott Phillips drones on and on about his wife Jordan and daughter Hutton to Lieutenant Nick Harris. Nick humors him, although details of his commanding officer's domestic bliss and drea [...]

    3. This is a great story. It is well-written, and has been well edited and proofed. The story line is believable, and the characters well-drawn. I will indeed be looking for more books in this series.

    4. Promise Cove is a lovely, compelling and beautiful book. I wasn't sure to begin with but it was amazing to read. From the Prologue, to Nick meeting Jordan, to them slowly falling in love and the endin had me in tears (which is rear but always makes me like a book even more) I also liked that Nick kept on seeing Scott and that former Unit members were there and Jordan's family. One thing that bothered me is the name Hutton (where does it come from?, why did Jordan name her daughter that name? wha [...]

    5. WHAT I LIKED:This was a contemporary romance, which is one of the genres I don't typically read very much. All too often authors focus solely on the relationship forming between two people in a contemporary romance. Now there's absolutely nothing wrong with that, I just prefer more action in my stories or else I get bored. Believe me when I say this book is as far from boring as you can get.It starts with a heartbreaking, and far too common I'm sure, scene where an IED forever changes the lives [...]

    6. Promise Cove (A Pelican Pointe Novel by Vickie McKeehanI absolute adore this book. Jordan is a likeable protagonist and the sexual tension between her and Nick could light a light bulb in a power outage. The love story that enfolds is nice and romantic and believable. This is not one of those stories where a jump in logic is what brings the two characters together. It is also not one of those where they keep the tension dragging until the reader looses interest. The author strikes a perfect bala [...]

    7. When I first started reading this book I thought two things: 1) "Oh no, not another Peyton Place (look it up if you are too young to remember it)" and 2) "Oh no, not another I-was-traumatized-in-the-war" melodrama. By the end of the book I was ashamed of those thoughts since, though, it has elements of both; it is really neither. What I am thinking now is, "What an excellent, exceptional, romance." and that is what I want those who read this review to think. While the book starts out with the tw [...]

    8. Promise Cove by Vickie Mckeehan is an absolutely wonderful novel. Mckeehan catches the essence of a romantic novel quite well in this story. This story line is so relevant today with so many of our heroes, our soldiers fighting for us and not returning back home. Mckeehan gives us just a glimpse on what happens when war strikes, a young family is separated, and a new family is formed and bonded by the tragedies of the past. The main characters Nick and Jordan are so well developed in this novel. [...]

    9. I picked this book up to try it, on a Kindle offer, and I really enjoyed it. I found it well written, and as someone else commented, well edited too. A good balance of emotion and action and strong main characters who are touching. 4* is a very good score for me. I keep 5* for Pride and Prejudice ;) I have now read the other two books in this series and am waiting for the next one

    10. A true tear-jerking, heartwarming love storyVickie Mckeehan made the characters come to life, you felt their tears, their heart break, their healing, their love in this old fashion Romance Novel. I"m going to cotinue with Deeper Evil also by Vickie Mckeehan. I can't wait to get started. Could there possibly be a sequal to Promise Cove? I hope so.

    11. Excellent bookgreat story. would love to see this become a movie. you can't put the book down once you start. highly recommend!

    12. Promise Cove is a novel of romance, suspense and the paranormal. My expectations are high and Vickie McKeehan does not disappoint. She starts out with the familiar, takes a twist and turn, then ends with ooey, gooey, warm fuzzies.Drink in the gorgeousness of this awesome cover. I can see myself sitting in one of those chairs with my camera, a margarita and Hidden Moon Bay, listening to the palm fronds rustling in the wind and enjoying the wonder of the beach. The words rolled off his tongue, "Mur [...]

    13. A Powerful Love StoryThis story encompasses the drama that many survivors of deceased military men and women experience in a realistic and beautiful manner. The author manages to use dialogue and introspection to accomplish this.Captain Scott Phillips and his best buddy, 1st Lt. Nick Harris were riding in a Humvee in Iraq when it was hit by an IED. During the months these two men were together, Scott talked constantly of his wife Jordan and baby daughter Hutton and the small town of Pelican Poin [...]

    14. I was given this book by the Author for an Honest review!!!Generally I am not much for romance, I don't mind if there is a little bit of romance but never one for overly mushy love story's. That is what I liked about this one not overly mushy. After reading this I look at romance as a new genre for me.Nick Harris has returned to L.A. after being injured while deployed in Iraq. After losing his best friend and Captain Scott Phiilips after a IED (Roadside Bomb)took Scott's life and changed Nicks f [...]

    15. Possible Spoiler Alert! I have read this author's work before and I have enjoyed it. With this book I just fell in love with the story and could not put this book down. We enter into the lives of Jordan and Nick. Jordan is a widow when her husband died. She is on her own and trying to make everything work, but it has been hard especially with a baby and a town not liking her for whatever reason. Jordan and her late husband Scott had a dream to build a B&B which I think was awesome. You can j [...]

    16. I was given a copy of this book for the purpose of review.Nick Harris has enough weighing on his conscious and the last thing he needed was to get his heart mixed in. Nick made a promise to his buddy while they were fighting in Iraq, now he had to follow through. After surviving an IED attack on his unit and now suffering from PTSD, he has a lot on his mind. Arriving in Pelican Pointe, he meant to go straight to Col. Scott Phillips widow, Jordan, say what he needed to say and be back on the road [...]

    17. Mckeehan has written a novel that really seizes the spirit of romance. It takes place in such current times, that it is easy to relate to see the characters as your own peers. It is a great book about love lost and found. It's about pain and overcoming that pain. There's down moments but everything seems to turn around for each character. The characters are greatly developed, especially Jordan, being portrayed as such a strong woman. I always enjoy reading about strong woman because it seems it [...]

    18. I received a copy of Promise Cove in exchange for a fair review.Promise Cove is a wonderful story about Nick, an Iraqi veteran, who comes to Pelican Pointe to fulfill a promise to his fallen friend Scott. Scott left behind his wife Jordan, and their daughter, Hutton, who he had never had the chance to meet.Jordan is trying to fulfill her own promise to Scott, to open the Bed and Breakfast in their home, as they'd been working on together before Scott was deployed.Nick never imagined that the won [...]

    19. It deserves more than five stars. This was on my kindle for awhile, I'm so glad I choose this to read .Mrs. McKeehan writes of captain Scott Philips talking non stop to Lieutenant Nick Harris about his wife Jordan and baby Hutton and their Victorian house they are restoring to be a bed and breakfast. They are in Baghdad riding in a humvee after Scott gets called to duty. Nick doesn't know how Scott can be so happy living that life style, but he listens because Scott is his buddy. Their brigade g [...]

    20. I finished this book a few minutes before the New Year began. I kept dragging feet for the longest time, and not because it was slow and dull. Oh no, just the opposite. I didn't want it to end! I LOVED this book, but then again, look who the author is. I became a loyal fan when I read Vickie's first book, JUST EVIL. Then I finished the remaining two books of the EVIL trilogy. I must admit I was nervous to jump into a new series, a romance series, but I decided to take the chance. I've never been [...]

    21. Promise Cove by Vickie McKeehanRating 5***** The day Nick appeared on that Harley answered a year's with of Jordan's silent prayers. Since the death of her husband Scott, the repairs on the bed and breakfast had been sadly neglected. The bank was harassing her to make payments and she had no idea where the money would come from.Nick owed his buddy his life. So, he found himself here in this small town, helping a widow and her young child. Fix what needs fixing and leave; that's the motto he live [...]

    22. Promise Cove is an emotional story that has been cleverly crafted into an engaging and uplifting read. At the heart of the book lies a tale of a small family destroyed by the raging war in Iraq and a small town’s unwillingness to step up and help one of their own.Jordan really is a smashing character, with McKeehan effortlessly portraying her simultaneously as a grieving widow with the world on her shoulders, a caring mother and an intelligent woman trying her best to emotionally move on. Jord [...]

    23. I Started Read Promise Cove And I Was Hooked Right Away. This Book Starts off with Nick and Scott who are in the armed services and they were talking about Scott's wife and child. Then it takes you to Nick traveling to see Scott's widow. Once he see's Jordon he falls in love with her and dosent want to tell her who he is not knowing what she would do. 24. Even when I normally don't read romance books, this was a very welcome diversion from the fantasy and paranormal books I'm used to read. The main person goes through a traumatic experience in his life, and ends up in a place where he normally wouldn't go, had it not been a promise he once made to a very good friend of his. From there the story goes like you would expect it, the person gets to know a friendly and nice lady, with child, and starts to develop feelings for them.Due to the tramatic par [...]

    26. Promise CoveBy: Author Vickie Mc KeehanEnchantingly Romantic!!!Truly an enjoyably romantic read for the ages. I struck by the ease in which I was drawn into and completely held. Author Vickie Mc Keehan grips your heart and takes you into a place where love and romance enraptures you to the point that there, in the moments of the pages of this read is where you long to stay. She makes you happy to know, love and want true love absolutely, especially if you have never experienced it before. Vickie [...]

    27. For me this book was great. Being a army mom I struggle seeing my son being deployed and in the military. I have seen or heard many people who deal with ptsd. survivor guilt and many struggles that soldiers have. But saying that he shows how people can fall in love and find love where they dont expect it. A promise to someone can lead to so much more. The joys of small towns and all the ins and out of that and also jealousy that people have and the lengths that people would do. This is a great b [...]

    28. A very enjoyable read. A nice romance, a touch of tension, a bit of humor, a pleasant setting, and a couple of antagonists. A returning Iraq vet with PTSD and a lonely serviceman's widow find a new life with each other and help heal each other's wounds. The characters draw you in and the descriptive writing allows you to enjoy the picturesque setting. A good combination for a light quick read. All the loose ends were neatly wrapped up in the end with an uplifting message.

    29. Jordan and Scott decided to follow his dream of opening up a bed and breakfast. Little did they know Scott would be killing in Iraq before his dreams were fulfilled. Nick who was in the Army with Scott checks in on the widow. Little does he know he will help achieve Scott's goal and fall in love with his widow at the same time. I loved this book! Have tissues handy!! WaAR

    30. I enjoyed Promise Cove. The steaminess was light. The story was touching and heartfelt. I would have enjoyed more development of their relationship. I wish the epilogue had a little more insight into their future to give me a completed HEA, but it is part of a series, so maybe I'll learn more in future books.I will check out the next book in this series.
