    2. I loved this story, I loved the writing, the characters, the flow of the book. It was about love that grows between a man and woman, a love of family, it was about tragedy and acceptance. And it was a scottish romance as well! SWEET! The book starts with Daniel as a young boy and the tragedy that happens. This is where the book get quite violent, but It is necessary to understand Daniel. Later you meet Maryn as a young child, she is wild and sweet and full of life and when Daniel shows up at her [...]

    3. The above was pretty much me while attempting to read this book. So, suffice it to say, Highland Vengeance was simply not the book for me. For this reason, I am going to refrain from rating it.I stopped reading at about 30% in and this saddens me because I rarely get to the point where a book becomes a DNF for me. This is my first K. E. Saxon book. This book started off rather strong; however, when the hero and heroine get married and the romance started I could no longer go on. It seems as if S [...]

    4. Amazing book, with realistic characters that you can't help but root for them. I loved that K.E Saxon didn't waste time (and our patience) and resolved matters quickly, instead of dragging them out. A book that you can't put down.At 93% I realised that the story isn't yet told in full, so I bought immediately the second part of the trilogy and I stayed up most of the night to start it! I don't regret a minute and I highly reccomend it to all Highlanders fans!

    5. Wow! I don't even know where to start with this book. I loved it so much! The book had everything: romance, erotica, revenge, humor, kindness, sorrow. A great thing about the book was it has suprises and shocker jumping out at you constantly. The synopsis tells you about Daniel Maclaurin and how at a young age his family and clan were destroyed and how he took vegence and rebuilt his life and clan. At sixteen, he meets young Maryn Donald, a spoiled, unruly little lass that he can't wait to get a [...]

    6. I won this book for free from the Goodread's First Reads giveaway.First of all, I am not going to sit here and describe the plot to you! The author did an awesome job of the that in the summary review, and when I review a book I like to mostly give my thoughts on it. This is the first K.E. Saxon book I read and it for sure will not be my last! She is a truly gifted and amazing author. I cannot wait to read more of her books!"Highland Vengeance" is the first book in the Highlands Trilogy! The aut [...]

    7. I enjoyed this book so much i bought the next two in the series, Highland Grace and Highland Magic. I just finished Grace and am starting Magic, this series is one you will want to read if you enjoy scottish history and romance all rolled into one. Thank you K.E. Saxon, i will be reading more of your books in the future.

    8. i was bored and found the book tedious. too many stories packed in one! daniel is not the delicious/hot type which make you swoon! maryn was too childish and dense for my tastes. der was also a nuance of paranormal which was not great, quite ridiculous.

    9. This was a longer book but a good change with more character development and still a good story line. Definitely continuing the series.

    10. K. E. Saxon hit the ball out of the park with this book. It’s long but well worth the read. Highland Vengeance is the first of the The Highland Trilogy. It is a romance that takes place in late 1100 Scotland when the clan system way of life was stable unless one clan declared war on another.Daniel MacLaurin is saved from the massacre of his family because he was fishing when the keep is attacked by no other than Jamison Mclean, his own father. At the age of thirteen he now finds himself the ol [...]

    11. 2,5 starsI stopped reading after book 3 about 40 percent in, not because it was particularly awful but because I just couldn't muster the interest to go on.Saxon's writing seemed best suited for the first two parts - the brutal pillaging of the hero's home when he was just a 14-year old boy and his first encounter with the wild spitfire little girl who much later is going to become his wife. Both were very well done, chilling and funny respectively. But then the romance started and its tediousne [...]

    12. What a pleasant surprise! Don't know what lead me to read the reviews on this book but I am so glad that I did. I was a little concerned with the dialect but even that didn't discourage me from going on. The sample from amazon was pretty long which in my opinion was what was needed to draw me in. Loved the book, getting ready to start reading the second. I have a new found love for Scottish Historical Romances, Thanks K. E. Saxon.

    13. I honestly enjoyed reading this book! It had an element of sweetness throughout. This was combined with jealousy, love, hate, lust, frustration and a desire to avenge wrongs as well as perceived wrongs creating heroes and villains.I became swept away in the lives of the characters so much that I am off to read the second book in the trilogy, Highland Grace. I must find out what happens next with the story of Bao and Jesslyn!

    14. One of the best medieval books I have ever read. From starting to finish, I could not put down my kindle down. This author has well earned her respect and admiration from me 100%. I will continue to follow this author's blogs and postings of more upcoming excellent books. K.E you have just earned a very faithful fan in me. Thank you for such awesome books!!

    15. THANK YOU, Ms. Saxon, for putting all the family serial books into ONE book! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and there were many times when I hated having to put it down when my life rudely intruded. I'm onto the next book "Highland Grace." YAY!

    16. Free on kindle. Not my thing so I won't rate it. I have never read a story set at this time or place so because it was free I gave it a try. It might be the genre that I didn't enjoy. I skimmed it to finish.

    17. Did not finish. The story was good until about the middle part where it should have ended. It lost me there.
