    1. Well-written autobiography of one of the first openly gay actors in Hollywood, Michael Kearns. However, I have to admit I've never heard of him. I've only seen two of the movies he's been in, "Body Double" and "And The Band Played On", but I don't remember seeing him in those. He's been in several other movies and TV shows, but honestly I've never heard of the guy. I've even looked him up on the net to see if I recognized any of his photos, but no, nothing clicks.     2. He's an interesting guy, but the book was really uneven. He sort of skimmed over a lot of significant things that happened to him and wasted too much ink on mundane details of his various love affairs. I feel like it could have so much better.

    3. Forthright, insightful, engaging. I read it because of the author's appearance in a seminal porn film of the '70s, but was surprised by the breadth of his experience, particularly in various capacities as writer, director, teacher.
