    1. This is a fantastic debut from Author Melissa Lummis! The storyline is unique and you can tell that the author poured her heart into this book. The emotional scenes are spot-on. I felt the joy, heartache, and love right along with the characters. I felt that the story built up to a nice climax and definitely didn't disappoint in the action department. 2. When I read that Enlightened was kind of in the Yoga/Hippy/Guru business, I was not at all sure about reading this book even though it has my beloved Vampires in it. Boy am I glad that I did not walk away because Enlightened is like no other book I have readd I LIKED IT! Basically, Melissa takes your hand and pulls you into her version of the supernatural worldd it's a series! ;) Beware though because once you start reading it, you will not be able to stop! 3. Melissa Lummis has done a fabulous job in her debut novel. This book does not disappoint! The character creation is well done and well thought out. The story itself is wonderful. I loved how she has joined the differing cultures from the yoga aspect on through to the vampires.I don't want to give away anything in the story because it truly is a must read. But character wise, we have Loti who seems so broken at first. She lost her husband and is basically falling apart. We have her best friend Ra [...]

    6. There really is something alluring about vampiresd a little scary. In the paranormal genre we get accustomed to all the common "truths" we have grown up with about witches, vampires, healers, shapeshifters, and werewolves. These are tested and twisted when Lummis introduces us to a mythical new life form that will intrigue the reader.Lummis takes some liberties when she introduces a pack of enlightened vampires, working toward the spiritual growth and enlightenment of the world alongside hippies [...]

This was the debut novel by the author and she does not disappoint this reader. I enjoyed the development of her characters as a reader you were able to follow along the story line with ease. I liked how the story had multiple character points of view.Walking along with Loti as she faces her husbands death and finding comfort in a vampire was an intense journey. Melissa wrote the story beautifully. Loti going on her vision quest and discovering she is a walking myth was an eye opener. Melissa's attention to detail made the story pop and that much more enjoyable. I cant wait [...]

    12. Enlightened is a well written book! After a tragic loss, the main character is unsure of herself and leaves her home to find "enlightenment". She discovers her true self in this powerful paranormal story. The characters are well developed and easy to relate to. It was hard to put this story down. It had the right mix of romance, mystery, drama and suspense!

    13. I think this was a wounderful & well wrote book. It enlightend me on many of the Eastern Religions. ( because I chose to look up words in the book & do intense study on some of them) while not being overly preachy. One of the best books I've read in a long time. If you want to read this book, I got it free in Love Potion # 11. Namatse!

    16. 3,5 starsLoti is preparing to take a leave. It’s almost a year since she lost her husband very suddenly to cancer, and she can’t really deal with the loss. Oh, she excists, but she isn’t alive. She’s working through her days, but she knows she needs to move forward in some way, she just have some trouble letting go of the past.Loti’s friend Rachel convince her it would be good to go away for a little while. Maybe visit the Ashram. Rachel is even going to come with her and stay there fo [...]

    17. 2.5 stars - I can't say I really liked it, but I will round up to 3 for decent writing and not too many typos. It is unique, I just wasn't expecting so muchtaphysical stuff. Seriously, every other scene people are ohhmm-ing and casting their breath to the wind or something. Very heavy on the middle-eastern religion, too much for my taste, but that may not bother others. The plot was sort of chaotic and toward the end I just started skimming to get done. There is a bit of sex, but it is pretty va [...]

    18. As others have said, Enlightened is a rather unusual take on the PNR in that it is based in a kind of yogic/Buddhist/Hindu ideology and spiritual practice. I got the impression that Lummis was writing herself in a sense. Not literally (I presume!) but in the sense that if she imagined herself into a PNR, that this is what it would be like.Outside of the scene-setting, the plot is a familiar one: love - conflict - resolution. No big surprises, but enjoyable. Bonus points for including a type of p [...]

    19. I wasn't impressed. This book is written in a quite choppy fashion, it almost feels like its the second or third in a series not a first. There isn't a whole lot of descriptionas to what is going on and because the book os so farfetched from any other type it makes it really hard to follow along or stay engaged. Also, the herione is a mopey debby downer and the hero doesnt give me any tingles either, seems they are thrust together more with circumstance than any real chemistry. I'm about halfway [...]

    20. This one started really strong. Loti's grieving over her husbands death was very relatable and I thought she was a good character. When Wolf came into things I didn't mind him either but even having the multiple POV's didn't really make me feel their connection. And the middle kind of lost me with all the chakra and prana talk. And by the end I was a little confused by all the metaphysical stuff and I thought the end was a little rushed. That being said I did enjoy it overall and I'm considering [...]

    21. I was entertained by the storyline. It was also an eye opener into the life of those practicing yoga, something I've never done, but always meaning to try out one day.I felt the beginning to be a little slow but it quickly picked up the deeper one got into the story. I would definitely recommend it to all those out there that love a good paranormal story. I look forward to continuing with the sequel.Well done Lummis

    22. What began as an intriguing and well-written openning devolved into a mess of stereotypical teen vampire drama. I really liked the beginning, but it felt as though it came from a different book than the second half. The latter of which had far too many characters and names introduced transitly. It read formulaic and sterile. meh. 2.5/5.

    23. No spoilers given! I read the E-book version.Good read with likable characters, descriptions, and setting. Fresh concept and writing style that many are sure to enjoy!! Interesting plot and story line that will keep you reading until the very end and leave you wanting to grab the next novel in the series quick to find out what happens next!~A.S. Johnson, author

    24. Well, that was weirdThe mix of mythologies and spiritual beliefs is confusing. The action is disjointed. But the story somehow still works. There are some errors, such as use of "reign" when the correct word is "rein," but the don't occur so frequently as to be a major distraction.

    25. Quite a paranormal saga.Very complex world of paranormal beings plus humans and part humans. A dedicated group seeks a new very powerful being. Unfortunately a very strong evil being also seeks to control the power. This is just the first book but, it comes to an end so you don't feel unsatisfied.

    26. Good quick readI enjoyed this. The story was quick paced and easy to read. There were some parts where I felt like there was not enough back story development but overall it was very enjoyable

    27. Overall a good read. I did not feel a connection with the main characters, but that may be my reading preference and not reflect on the book. The story line is original and exciting and the love story is full of turmoil. I would recommend trying this book, it may be your cup of tea.
