    1. I loved this novel. The author masterfully captured the essence of what it truly means to discover love when dreams of making it big get in the way. There is Lacey, whose dreams of becoming a successful entrepreneur lead her to discover love when she least expected it. There is Billy, the washed-out country star, who finds out that all it takes to make it back to the top of the charts is to find the music in his soul, which can only be inspired by the woman he just met. As in most good love stor [...]

    3. I was pleasantly surprised in this first installment in the South Beach series by Marisa Cleveland. I am not a big fan of country music, and I wasn’t sure what I would think about a country music star (or has-been). Instead of a bar, it was a coffee shop, which also intrigued me and was a nice change from the usual setting. Billy was a down on his luck country music star – had made it big, but faded thanks to an ex-girlfriend and some bad choices. While that was fairly cliché, the rest of h [...]

    4. The perfect combination of sweetness and sexiness was brought to the page in Reforming the Cowboy by Marisa Cleveland.Lacey wants her café to succeed. She wants to make it stand-out among the other business in South Beach and comes up with the idea to hire former country-singer star Billy Hardy. It just so happens that Billy was Lacey's college celebrity star, but she's assured herself that this all business since she can't risk to take her attention from building a successful business.Billy ha [...]

    5. 4.5 Blue Ribbons - Review provided courtesy of Romance JunkiesREFORMING THE COWBOY is a trendy contemporary-romance that brings together a country-music-star with a café owner. While sparks immediately fly between the two, fate steps in and conspires to keep them apart. Is this love affair destined to fail, or can true love find a way to withstand a temporary separation? Billy Hardy used to be a country super-star until things spiraled out of control and he ended up punching a record executive [...]

    6. Posted on What I'm ReadingThe other day, I was able to finish Marisa Cleveland lastest release Reforming the Cowboy. I must say that I enjoyed this story. Reforming the Cowboy was a pretty easy going read. There was a couple emotional tugging parts, but nothing that would ripped your heart out.In Reforming the Cowboy, we meet Billy Hardy who is trying to make a come back to the country music world. Plus, he's making his come back to in South Beach at a little cafe owned by Lacey Durant. To be ho [...]

    7. 2.5 STARS**Provided by Netgalley and Entangled Publishing, LLC for an honest review**I really struggled to connect with this book. The story in itself was promising, but I couldn't relate to the characters or really feel the relationship between Billy and Lacey. The whole relationship between the two just felt wrong, especially at the beginning. Billy's ex girlfriend was just annoying and Chip in his way was nice enough. So with have Billy a Country singer who has been off the radar for ten years [...]

    8. I had a hard time connecting with the characters. I've never been one to crush on a famous person and Lacey dwells on the fact that Billy was her big crush in college a little too much. I really didn't see a whole lot of development in her as a character. I don't expect life changing events to completely change a personality, she just seemed a bit stagnant. Now, Lacey's idea for her new cafe - I absolutely love. If there were one of these in my town, I'd be there every chance I had. Billy was be [...]

    9. If you after a sexy, steamy romance with strong characters and a good storyline, then this ticks the boxes. Café owner Lacey is determined to make her fledging business a roaring success. With prospective backers to woo she knows what she wants and goes for it, including booking fallen country sensation Billy Hardy, who just so happens to be her college celebrity crush. Sexy, talented and with a reputation with the ladies that goes hand-in-hand with stardom, Billy has made mistakes, lost his wa [...]

    10. I put off reading this book and now I'm really not sure why. I think the whole South Beach & country music part struck me as odd and put me off it at first. Once I actually started reading I liked it. To me this is more of a novella, and I would have loved to have read this as a full length novel. Lacey has been the screw up her whole life. First as a rebellious teenager, and then believing a "lying, cheating ex" who also left her in a lot of debt. The reason I use the quotation marks is bec [...]

    11. Marisa Cleveland provides a short but sexy love story about comeback country star Billy and cafe owner Lacey in Reforming the Cowboy. Lacey has had a crush on the star since before his career took a scandalous downward spiral involving his ex girlfriend and a fight. She is thrilled to have him on her cafe stage for her grand opening. Billy just wants to start fresh and get back to writing new songs. he and Lacey are instantly attracted and just being around her positive presence inspires him to [...]

    12. It was a good read.A country singer, named Billy Hardy, tries to make a comeback and maybe (possibly) have a good time with the owner of a café down in South Beach. Lacey the owner of the café in question had a major crush on him early in his career when he was at the top of his game. His manager Chip wants him to be famous too and tries to get him gigs that’ll help his career and he really does look out for him. His crazy cheating ex Shawna, however, thinks she’s going to get back on the m [...]

    13. Quick, cute and full of cowboy melodies! This was a great second chances style of romance. Not so much a second chance at love, which was partly true, but a second chance at making your life have its own happily ever after. Billy Hardy had some big hits, but sadly they were duets with a woman he thought was his “one”. But after she double crosses him and steals his note book containing all his next album of songs, Billy slides into a tail spin of drinking, brawling and bad boy behavior.Lacey [...]

    14. Actual Rating: 2.5 StarsFor some reason, I just wasn’t able to really get into Reforming the Cowboy. The story felt really rushed and disjointed to me. I never really connected with Billy or Lacey. I found their backgrounds to be interesting, but I felt like there could have been more. Perhaps if the book had been longer, we could have delved deeper into the characters. There could have been more drama added with the Shawna situation. As it was, that felt like a blip in the grand scheme of thi [...]

    15. Who doesn't love a good looking, sexy cowboy? I did have a hard time with the location of this story being in Florida's South Beach. It just felt like it should have taken place in a town that was a little slower paced but somehow it still worked. Lacey can't believe she's hired her college crush, country star Billy Hardy, to play at the opening of her cafe. Billy's trying to make a come-back from an emotionally tragic, career crushing past. Slowly the two start getting closer and he realizes sh [...]

    16. This was the first book I have read by Marisa Cleveland and I absolutely loved it! This was Billy and Lacey' s Story. Billy was a country music singer looking to 're-enter the business and Lacey had just opened a coffeehouse to start over. Both had pasts that were exactly that a past and best left in past, With both of them moving forward. I fell in love with Billy, even though he had made big before and was famous, then faded he was still very down to earth, he was sweet, caring, compassionate, [...]

    17. Country singer, Billy Hardy made some bad career moves when he was in the spotlight ten years ago. Now he has a second chance. His manager, Chip, booked him for the grand opening of Lacey's Café in South Beach. Lacey had a crush on him when she was in college. Now he's living in her spare room and singing for his supper. The attraction between them is intense. Even better they connect on a personal level. He feels that Lacey is his muse. These two are so good together but their careers are pull [...]

    18. Lacey and Billy are both looking for that second chance, and somewhere along their journey, they discover something in each other that shows them that they may get that chance in love.I loved that they weren’t in the first flushes of youth, and that they had experiences and pasts people in their thirties would have. Neither is looking for love, but the attraction that sparks between them makes it oh so hard to resist each other. The chemistry and romance was really well done. The ups and downs [...]

    19. I received a copy of this book from Netgalley. This was a sweet and sexy romance between two unlikely lovers, a former country star and a coffee shop owner.Lacey is trying to open her new cafe with a bang and hopes to do so by hiring Billy, a former country star trying to get his career back after 10 years off the scene.I felt that we were lacking a bit of back story especially from Lacey and for that reason I had a lack of connection to these characters. I could have used a little more build up [...]

    20. I really enjoyed this sweet, sexy, sassy read from Ms. Cleveland. She gave us great characters, more mature and world wearied than normal. but that endeared them all the more. The primary and secondary characters were all multi dimensional and strong. Even the ones I disliked were still interesting. The dialogue was witty and appropriate to both the characters and the situations. Chemistry and Country Music - what a combo!*I received my copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

    21. At first I thought the combo of a cowboy in South Beach was a bit odd, but it was refreshing to read a romance story that had something different for a change. Billy and Lacey are the perfect fit! I LOVE that Billy was based on Blake Shelton, my fav country singer! And a coffeehouse for the setting? What more could you ask for?! Both characters were written beautifully, and I thought this novel was the perfect blend of sweet and sexy. I also loved Cleveland's first book, The Valentine Challenge, [...]

    22. Country singer Billy Hardy needs to get back on the charts or his career will be over, so his manager arranges a stint at a cafe. Lacey Durant, the cafe owner, had a crush on Billy in his heyday and is excited to have him perform in her cafe.Conflict comes in the form of new fans, which pushes them into closer contact, and an old girlfriend, which wedges them apart. The chemistry between them is sexy, the plot believable, combining for a great read!*I was provided a copy of this book from Netgal [...]

    23. This book is an excellent example of a good short romance novel. Easy to read with developed characters, the plot moves quickly through one week in the life of the main characters. As written, you can feel the excitement and the tension as Billy and Lacey move towards the inevitable conclusion. Marisa Cleveland has a gift for this type of writing; you believe that these characters can fall in love quickly and hopelessly. Curl up with a cup of coffee, put on a good country album and curl up with [...]

    24. Such a cute, yet sexy read about a woman who connects with the country singer she had fangirled over when she was in college. I really enjoyed the storyline and loved the main characters, Billy and Lacey. For awhile, I wasn't sure about the manager, but he redeemed himself. Definitely a sweet romance that I would recommend to others. If you're looking for great writing, believable characters, and a fantastic storyline, then try this book on for size. You won't be disappointed.

    25. Oh my goodness! This is a melt your heart romance if I've ever read one. Billy is a man in need of second chances at love and music. He has been disappointed by both in the past. Lacey is trying to move on from a bad marriage and Billy may be the key to starting her future. Can these two broken hearts cure each other and start anew? Read and watch. Thanks to Entangled Indulgence for giving me the opportunity to read and review.

    26. This is a quick entertaining read. I love it when you learn from your mistakes and Billy did. Lacey had to finally conclude that her fascination with her college crush had matured. This is an interesting sweet hot story about what's important in your life and what's not. This is a wonderful way to spend some time. This author is new to me and I'll look for her stories. Enjoy I did.

    27. Loved it! I receive an arc in exchange for a fair and honest review. I really have only one thing to say about this book, Wow! It was wonderful. Warm, set lovely. I'm sorry I'm done reading it. You won't be sorry with this story of two people finding what life and love is all about.

    28. Overall, not a bad book, but nothing about it made me feel excited. It started off promising, but about half way through I lost interest and just wanted to be over with it. Hopefully, others will enjoy it more than I did.

    29. Netgalley Freebie!I read about 45% of this book and to be honest I skimmed most of it. I could'nt get into it. I dont know if it just didnt flow well for me or what, but I was so uninterested in the story I didnt even finish it.

    30. Just the right combination of sweet and sexy. If you've ever day-dreamed about a swoony musician you totally fan-girled over or love "second chance" stories, I suggest this book!
