    1. The hero of RR is a glossy, unrepentant, entitled and titled rake. You don’t for a minute dislike him. The heroine, repressed by upbringing and circumstance, is soon dépassé par les évènements to become an observer in her own life. While at the very beginning she acquits herself quite well, she is soon altogether less interesting. I found RR to be too long and the ending a muddle with so much to tie up, although it does. I do recommend you give it a read as the writing is intelligent.
