    1. This review was originally posted on (un)Conventional BookviewsHarper was a whimsical character I thought I'd love more than I did it took her a long time to grow up and actually do something constructive instead of complaining about the ideas her mother, her sisters and Cole came up with to save the ranch after her father's sudden death. And while the story involved a trope I absolutely love in romances, friends to lovers, it was not all that easy to get attached to Harper and Cole as a couple. [...]

    2. *I received a free ARC of The Bride Wore Denim from Atria Books vie Edelweiss in exchange of an honest and unbiased review*The story in The Bride Wore Denim was very sweet and at times heart-breaking. I enjoyed the characters and the story overall, however, there were both typos and grammatical errors, and sometimes some continuity problems as well, which took my attention away from the story trying to figure out exactly what was going on.

    3. It’s been a couple of years since I read my first book by this author: I loved her ability to create characters that resonated and could breathe in the corner of the room as I read (in that non-stalker totally not creepy way). Now with a new series that has all of the elements I love: family concerns, a chance to resolve past issues, the recognition of true desires and a chance at happiness that realigns your life plans. Harper has returned to Wyoming after years away pursuing her art and her [...]

    4. To read this review and others like it check out my site at homelovebooks I really loved this book. When I picked it up to start reading it I had every intention of reading a couple of chapters and then getting some sleep. So did not work out that way, I read it in one sitting, and really enjoyed it. I love books that take place on ranches or farms, I think it's because I've always wanted to end up living on a ranch with a bunch of horses in Montana. So I will point out that first off this book [...]

Review:Rating: 4.5 of 5Heat: 2Cover comment: So PrettyBook source: EdelweissYou know me and how I love a good Cowboy Romance so I could hardly pass up a chance to read the first book in a new series ~ Seven Brides for Seven Cowboys. I have not read Lizbeth's previous series, Rural Gentlemen but I understand it is excellent so yep, it's been added to my TBR pile! lol When I pick up The Bride Wore Denim to start reading it, I had no problem getting into it. Even the funeral that kinda starts the s [...]

    7. So I have read Liz Selvig books before and I have always enjoyed them, but I hadn’t read any of the Seven Brides for Seven Cowboys series, but I was eager to get started. So this story gets a little confusing, so stay with me. Harper Crockett is one of six sisters, all left their family ranch to get away from their over bearing father. But now they are all back for his funeral, and some issues that their parents have kept from them, has now suddenly been thrust into the spotlight…their ranch [...]

    8. This book was my introduction to this authors work and I have to admit that I really enjoyed this story. It was refreshing to read something new and just dive right in and explore a new writing style. The story line was beautifully written, and was really easy for me to connect to, and just fall right into and enjoy. This is the first installment in Ms. Selvig's new series, and I have no doubt that fellow readers will adore the Crockett Family, they are a very unique bunch of characters with ver [...]

    9. The first book in a new series, the story of Harper and Cole begins with the death of her father. Harper has always been the artsy sister, the flighty one, the one who disappointed her father. Cole was her childhood crush and the guy who dated her older sister. When Harper returns to the family ranch for the funeral, she discovers that not only is the ranch in financial trouble but that her sisters might not be united on wanting to save it. As she and Cole get closer, Harper discovers that her c [...]

    10. Fantastic beginning to a new series from this author! After the death of their father all the Crockett sisters have returned to Paradise Ranch. The last person Harper Crockett wanted to see while she was home is Cole Wainright. On again off again boyfriend of sister Mia, and Harper's teenage crush. Cole has known Mia wasn't the woman for him for a while, what he hadn't realized was that her younger sister Harper most definitely was!! This is a wonderful small town romance that has a great set of [...]

    11. Great start to a new series by an incredible author. Lizbeth has a talent for drawing the reader into a world so fully it's difficult to remember it's fiction. The way she builds the world feels as natural as walking right up to the characters as if they were live, breathing people. Looking forward to the rest of this series.

    12. Such depth to these characters and the storyline! I couldn't put the book down! Tragic accidents, second chances, and a huge family of women! Im hooked. I'm already wanting Mia's story!

    13. Harper can hardly remember a time when Cole wasn’t practically a part of her family, but her unrequited crush has kept her in avoidance mode for the past several years. It’s one thing to develop feelings for your best childhood friend, but it’s quite another when that same friend dated your beautiful sister for years in high school. But when family loss and responsibilities bring her home, her feelings are hard to deny, and when Cole seems to reflect some of those very same feelings, thing [...]

    14. Read the full review on Bookaholics Not-So-Anonymous.Note: This ARC was provided by Avon Impulse in exchange for an honest review. The Bride Wore Denim is the first book in Lizbeth Selvig's newest contemporary romance series, Seven Brides for Seven Cowboys, and is the first book by her that I've read. A lot of books tend to become overly complicated when too many minor characters are thrown in and while there was a fair amount of supporting characters here, it never felt crowded or distracting. A [...]

    15. So in this first book we get to meet the Crockett (yes, they are ninth cousins twice removed from Davy) sisters. Amelia, Harper, Joely, Kelly, Grace, and Raquel. They have all come home for their father's funeral and are told that they are in danger of losing the families cattle ranch. Grandma Sadie and Mama Bella have no interest or energy to try and get it back into good financial shape. They leave it to the girls to decide what's going to happen. Oh yea, you know you can't leave a decision lik [...]

    16. This was a new author for me and the first book in this series. The story sounded interesting so I thought I would give her a try.A death in the family has brought Harper Lee Crockett, and all of her other sisters, back home to Paradise Ranch. Cole Wainwright has been at the ranch for a very long time, and at one time he had a relationship with Harper's sister, Amelia, that just never worked out. Cole and Amelia parted ways but remained very good friends. Imagine Harper's shock and dismay when s [...]

    17. This was the first time reading this author and I was very happy I had the opportunity to do so. The author spins an interesting tale that centers on family and how the opinions we have formed about them may not always be accurate. Harper is a free spirit and has always been the artistic one of her sisters. Feeling like she didn’t quite fit in with the others. Her parents have a ranch which comes with a great deal of pride and history, but when the daughters all feel that they are not exactly [...]

    18. The Bride Wore Denim is an outstanding novel, a beautiful romance, and a touching emotional odyssey. Harper always felt that she fell short in meeting everyone's expectations, especially those of her father. Now just when her professional life to take a major leap forward, the man she thought would live forever has died of a heart attack, and she has returned to the family ranch that she loves for his funeral. Mired in the pain of his loss and knowing that she will never have another chance to e [...]

    19. This was my first book by Lizbeth Selvig and I thought it was awesome! It's got family, cowboys, old crushes, sister drama and lots of love. The Bride Wore Denim is the story of Harper and Cole. Harper has been called home from her big city life when her father dies unexpectedly. It quickly becomes apparent that some decision about the family cattle ranch need to be made. There are six daughters and none of them are interested in running it. Cole's father's ranch was bought years ago by Harper's [...]

    20. Full Review at: What's Beyond Forks? The Bride Wore Denim is the first book in The Seven Brides for Seven Cowboys series by Lizbeth Selvig. Harper and Cole have known each other since they were children, but Cole was off limits as he dated Harper's sister Amelia Sister code and all. I loved how easily Harper and Cole get back into their friendship. I think they have a common goal in regards to the farm, but they butt heads about how to go about getting it done. The whole family is in disagreement [...]

    21. A great start to a new series! The seven Crockett girls have all returned to Paradise Ranch upon the death of their father. Harper is the free spirit artist, trying to make a go of it in Chicago (love Gino's Pizza). She runs into Cole, her high school crush, plus her sister's ex boyfriend. They soon find out their is an attraction between them. Does she listen to her heart or follow her career, or can she have both at Paradise Ranch. Great descriptive writing, it makes the reader really feel lik [...]

    22. I absolutely love Lizbeth's writing style. This is so much more than a romance novel. There are so many dynamics to this story, it is hard not to find something to relate to. I adore Harper with her artsy and hippie ways ! Cole is a good ole country boy that is hard not to love. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would absolutely recommend it. Harper is one of 6 daughters to a hard core ranch family. Harper left home as soon as she could thinking her father did not approve of the person she was [...]

    23. I cannot wait to get into this series. After reading this book I can see the characters as they struggle and find their way. Harper Crockett, artist not understood as a child growing up runs from life at home in the country she finally comes to love after helping someone else realize their dream isn't wasted. Cole Wainwright after his father had to sell the ranch he grew up on had to go out in the world and find a job where he could make enough money to buy back the ranch. It is well written with [...]

    24. Read after The Bride Wore Red Boots as I didn't realize it wasn't the first. Harper Lee Crockett was good at doing her own thing no matter what her 5 sisters or parents thought. She got out of Wyoming as fast as she could to live her life the way she wanted. When she comes back home for her father's funeral she can't stop thinking about Cole he grew up with her and her sisters on the ranch and she has always loved him. Harper is so funny and Cole is so sweet Loved this romance a lot. Can't wait [...]

    26. What a nice story and a great beginning to a new series of books by Lizbeth Selvig. A neat family saga begins with lots of twists and turns in the series opener. But, still, love saves the day. I also like that this heroine, although known for her "artsy" temperment with her head in the clouds also has a brain and is able to problem solve. Thank you, Lizbeth, for a wonderful story that keeps me reading - and loving - romance novels!

    27. I felt a little down in the middle, and had a hard time coping with it. Then I took a break and started all over again from the same place and then the story took shape, of family struggles, ties and testing of the family relationships. It was a nice story.

    28. Full review to come, but I cannot wait to read the next books! Ms. Selvig has this unique way of telling a story that just hooks you in deep!

    29. Fun readInteresting twist on redemption. The hero is almost so good he is boring. But not quite. Descriptions of the scenery make you feel like you are there.
