    2. As the only global superpower, America can use its military, economic and cultural might for good or ill. We can use our power to become a worldwide empire, or to support and enhance global stability. And enhancing global stability is really the best way to enhance our own security. The most likely threats to security in today's world do not come from direct conflict with other nations. They come from regional conflicts (such as between Pakistan and India), ethnic conflicts, oppressed peoples att [...]

    3. Just finished: excelente!! It's his book from 2004 though, so now I'm wishing I could get my hands on his most recent 2 at least (he has one that's just been published this year: Strategic Vision: America and the Crisis of Global Power). It was incredibly helpful to read this book though, even though it's prior to all the financial upheaval - so perceptive. There are some things that I don't completely agree with him on (I know, he's the experienced one, but hey, everybody's gotta have an opinio [...]

    4. American foreign policy treatise in the classical, geopolitical line of thought. Brzezinski has no doubt of American preponderance (American global hegemony is now a fact of life) but recognizes th difficulty of a unilateral foreign policy (though he does not say that such a policy would inevitably fail). Brzezinski puts together a well thought out plan for continued American global supremacy through multilateral (though not equal) arrangements. The book comes across as dated in places (American [...]

    5. A good book which opens your eyes on the global implication in 20th century and how the U.S see the world

    6. A really insightful look at the place of America in the post-Cold War world and a pretty good assessment of the pitfalls of the current track of "American socio-economic hegemony"

    7. I'd be interested in hearing his thoughts on the direction the country has taken over the last few years.
