    1. The sitter is a creature who's shape is not revealed so those experiencing the story can imagine her (or him) as they please. My view of the sitter is a cross of gargoyle, fu dog, and ninja, but could as easily be an angel cat to counter the demon cat.Braxus is based on the ancient notion of cats lying on infants to steal their breath or soul (in reality, the cats were licking milk off babies).When Braxus' monster form fails to intimidate the guardian, he attempts to lure her with temptation.     2. Again very short and I wish there was more explanation. I think it is a premise for a great story line but for children? Maybe not. I would push more towards the teen population with the violence. However again it was well written and I liked it but it was too short. I know there is a second one so maybe that one will give us more.*I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review
