    1. This was my first time reading a novel by Ms. Harry, and I was quite pleased with the unique paranormal tale she weaved through three short stories. The first story, which began during the Transatlantic Slave Trade to the islands of the Caribbean, begins the tale of a soucouyant woman who dies on the brutal journey but manages to pass along her ability to her daughter.     2. Wow!!! This author takes the reader in a world of Trinadad & Tobego folklore that although few may know about but it definitely has its influences in the horror/paranormal genre. I love how the author shows the origin to the modern day view of the soucouyant through the stories of 3 women. What is also intriguing about these women are the compassion they have to those they care about showing that they are more then what they inherit from their blood line.
