    3. Great Start to a Fantastic SeriesLoved it. It was a good amount of history with a perfect blossoming romance. This book was well written and easy to read. I liked both Ansel & Isolda. It was sad, (view spoiler)[ but I liked that after they had sex they both kind of regretted it for different reasons. (hide spoiler)] It added a nice angst to the story. I liked Isolda’s strength and determination. (view spoiler)[ I thought it was silly that Ansel had to admit his “betrayal” to King Rober [...]

    4. Good story lots of twistsemendously slow pacedail paced. Could skip a whole chapter and not miss anything. Not a great deal of chemistry between them. Kinda blahually I can't wait for the main characters to be togethert really this time.Ok reads

    5. This book drew me in from the start since it has good dialogue between characters, and the plot is kind of an adventure / mystery along with a traditional romantic tale. Ansel is every bit the hero, hunky highlander you hope find in a historical romance novel set in Scotland. Lady Isolda is not your typical innocent maid type; she is a strong character with her own secrets, and a some what guarded nature. I love the interaction between Ansel and Isolda - there is a lot of tension, drama and slow [...]

    6. A mission for his KingWhen Ansel Sutherland receives an unexpected visit from Garrick Sinclair, little does he know that his life is about to change forever. Bearing a message from King Robert Bruce, Garrick tells Ansel that he is to protect the illegitimate son of Thomas, Earl of Lancaster. When Ansel goes to Dunstanburgh Castle to retrieve the Earl's son, he finds only Lady Isolda who tells him that she alone knows the location of his quarry and she will never tell. However, assassins already s [...]

    7. Quick, good readThis is a historical Romance novel written about the early 14th century Scotland. Of course, we have our hunk, macho Scot and the beautiful English lady. Not much new these. I guess what saves this story is the well developed characters and some of the dialogue. I found myself easily drawn to the writing.Needless to add, I plan to read the next in this series and see if my opinion holds. I would recommend to readers of historical romance novels.

    8. Packed with adventure & romanceThe plot is interesting & dialogue between the main characters moves the action well.I wish there had been an epilogue beginning a year later to see how well the characters developed in their new lives. I enjoyed this novel & look forward to reading the others.Sincerely,

    9. The Lady's Protector Treachery and the wars between England's Kings and Scotland's Kings were an everyday thing. Why would a Lord with an eye on the throne of England want to murder his illegitimate son murdered along with that child's mother. But hiring an assassin and a bodyguard seems rather far fetched.

    10. I really enjoyed this book. The romance between Isolda and Ansel continued growing throughout the whole book. This book had sweetness, action, a little bit of mystery, and also some history. There were a couple of hot romance scenes. Hot but not Smutty. Overall, this was a very enjoyable read.

    11. Five star!Couldn’t put it down and now I can’t wait to start on the second book of this seriesis author has been and will be one of my favorites!

    12. The Lady's ProtectorA very good read as you would expect from Emma Prince. Another series to be sure to read the whole set. Enough action and enough romance to satisfy any lover of medieval novels. Ansel's story will leave you wanting the next book right away

    14. In the wake of the Battle of Bannockburn, Robert the Bruce charges one of his best and most trusted warriors with an unusual mission. Ansel Sutherland is to protect the bastard son of the Earl of Lancaster as part of the shifting alliances in the Scottish fight for independence. Though he chafes at the thought of aiding the English in any way, Ansel will do anything Robert the Bruce asks of him. When he arrives in England, however, Lady Isolda, the child's mother refuses to tell him where his ch [...]

    15. King Robert the Bruce has been asked by the Earl of Lancaster to find a man to protect his bastard son from being used against him. Ansel Sutherland is one of the Bruce's most trusted warriors. He hates the very idea of protecting the Earl's son, but he will serve his king. He is going to find more trouble than he expected, sometimes in the most unexpected places. Lady Isolda of Embleton was given her title and and her home when she fell pregnant with the Earl of Lancaster 's baby. He sends mone [...]

    16. The Lady's Protector (Highland Bodyguards)I can say I would defiantly recommend this book to my friends because they would defiantly love the hero's in this story.

    17. Absolutely fantastic--I couldn't put this book down, and I loved every moment of it! The characters were complex and engaging, and I loved their dynamic together (he was rough around the edges but honorable, she was wounded from the past, but strong). The story was fast-paced and engaging, with just the right balance between political intrigue, bad guy scheming, action and adventure, and the love story between the hero and heroine. I'm so, so glad this is the start of a new Scottish series, beca [...]

    18. Sweet story, enjoyable readComfortable highland story detailing the blossoming love story of a highlander "barbarian" and an English lady. Ansel is strong, honorable, and part of Robert the Bruce's inner circle. Isolde is a girl from humble beginnings, forced to face the consequences of a youthful error in judgement. Together they must run for their lives and the protection of Isolde's young son.

    19. Noble romantic fiction with a secretLots of secrets. With some intentional poetic license taken with history, this is a fast moving story with a glimpse behind the dark side of political intrigue. If you like steamy romance but want more depth, this is that book. It's beyond highlanders (which are always a plus!).

    20. Another great read from Emma. Ansel is charged with being bodyguard to the illegitimate son of an English lord. He soon discovers it is more than that when he crosses paths with Isolda. A steady story that kept me gripped. I love that we see some of the Sinclair clan from her previous series. But they aren't so tied together that you have to have read them (though if you haven'tyou should!)

    21. Wonderful story of loveWonderful love story of protector and a protected. She made a mistake in judgment and bore a son and he is there to protect them but man whose son she bore is the one after them not king Edward II. Read on for more details and I hope you'll enjoy the story as much as I have.

    22. Good Highlander Love StoryI enjoy stories about Highlanders who are big, tall, handsome and really good guys. In this story Ansel is all of those plus brave and true. He honors his king, his country, his family and the woman he loves.I am looking forward to reading more books by this author. HAPPY READING!

    23. Great start to a new series. I really enjoyed her Sinclair Brothers Trilogy. I think this flows nicely behind it. This book is fast going. It is a story with intrigue, suspense, betrayal, and romance. The characters are very well written. I really liked Ansel's character.

    24. Read this book Do not start reading this book at nite unless you don't mind being up all nite. Near impossible to put down. Exciting, fast moving, quick plot changes and enough sex to keep it interesting. Thoroughly enjoyable and believable.

    25. This was very good. It is book 1 in the new series. It is Ansel Sutherland's story with Lady Isolda. It flowed at a really good pace. I don't want to give away any spoilers. The actual description of this story is intriguing enough. I love forward to book 2. Hopefully, it will be out soon.

    26. ExcitingI was happy to read this book because I had already went through the Sinclair brothers and I was looking for something else! Kudos to Me. Prince for such exciting books! I'm looking forward to the next!

    27. Beach readGreat development of the characters and it had and interesting plot line, but I was disappointed that the plot was so simple and the book was short
