    1. (More pictures at parkablogs)You'll never know what's in a sketchbook. That's one of the surprises for opening them. In this thick 352-page paperback, 110 artists and designers are featured. A lot of graphic designers are unfamiliar to me but I do spot a few illustrators like Gary Baseman, James Jean (he seems to be in a lot of sketchbook collections), infographics maestro Nigel Holmes, John Cuneo. The illustrative style is incredibly varied and the drawing subjects random. The work featured rang [...]

    2. Disclaimer: I won this book from the publisher. I found this book entertaining, but not overly insightful. If you enjoy sketches or early work, this book is for you. I recognized a few artists, most were unknowns to me, and I wasn't really inspired to find out any more about them with one exception: Daniel Palavin's drawings of fountain pens drew me in (pun slightly intended). Definitely wouldn't pay the $60 price printed on the back. 3 Stars = This book is either well-written or deals with issu [...]

    3. A real gem. I've been obsessed with looking at personal sketchbooks for inspiration lately and this book helps to quench that thirst a little. It's full of sketches, scribbles, personal notes of many amazing designers and artists. They offer us a peak into each designer/artist's creative process, work philosophy, and some very personal part of themselves. I found it tremendously inspiring and exhilarating. The only unfortunate thing is that most featured artists and designers in this book are Eu [...]

    4. Een boek met als achterliggend idee een blik te bieden in de schetsboeken van illustratoren, comic book tekenaars, designers, van over de hele wereld. What's not to like?
